Clinic Intake Application Terms of Service

Thank you for using our expungement services provided by the University of Missouri‑Kansas City School of Law Expungement Clinic (“Clinic”) and the Clear My Record Missouri Expungement Project (“CMR”) (referred to as “the authors”). These terms outline the conditions under which you may use our Intake Application Services.

By utilizing our Services, you agree to the following terms:

Non-Legal Advice: CMR and the Clinic are not attorneys, and therefore, we do not provide legal advice. You understand and acknowledge that the authors are not acting as attorneys or offering legal advice through the provision of our Services.

Personal Information Handling: Our Services will request personal information and case information from you required to determine your eligibility for expungement under Missouri law. Your information will be stored in our confidential case management system for a period of three years. After this, we will permanently delete your file, except for a special index used for our internal research purposes, which will not contain any personally identifying information.

Right to Access Your File: You retain the right to access your file. Should you wish to obtain a copy of it, it is your responsibility to contact us and request it before the three-year period elapses and we delete it in accordance with this agreement.

Confidentiality of Information: Any information received or discovered during our review of your application will be kept confidential. We will not disclose any information without your explicit permission, unless disclosure becomes necessary to determine your eligibility for expungement. For example, we may disclose your personal information to the Court to facilitate the identification of the record you seek to expunge. This duty of confidentiality extends to all personnel at the Clinic who have access to your information, including students and staff.
